JURY CFW 2025: MARIA STRANEKOVA

Maria Stranekova is a respected fashion designer, artist and associate professor with more than 20 years of international experience committed to innovation, tradition and sustainability.

She completed Master’s and Doctoral studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava and has undertaken several international residencies and internships at prestigious fashion houses. In 2005 established the Mayamay brand creating timeless pieces with innovative cuts adding the so-called „Life care instruction” label’- a social message about care and well-being. Her academic career began in 2008 as an Assistant Professor at Tomas Bata University in Zlín Czechia, where she successfully led the Fashion Design Studio. Now she holds the position in studio Arts Management and her creative studio is based in Bratislava Slovakia. She has been awarded several major fashion design awards and recently her work was presented at Milan Design week 24.
